Have found the beast: Under the "View" tab is an item called "Enable Message Filter" - when ticked it automatically moves read messages from the inbox, leaving them in the individual email box [inside the Inbox folder]. I can only assume that this was enabled in an update - I simply had to "Disable Message Filter". WebPress the Tab key until you hear "Lists," followed by the name of the currently selected list. Press the Up or Down arrow key until you hear "Flagged email," and then press Enter. Press the Right arrow key to move to the first task in the Flagged email list view. To select the task and open it in the detail view, press Enter.

I verified the option and it was already marked as checked. To be on the safe side I unchecked it, saved and then re-checked the option. Problem still persists.
